Dr. Amy Smith graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Buffalo State University of New York with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She then completed her medical degree at the University at Buffalo State University of New York School of Medicine & Biomedical Sciences in 2012, graduating with thesis honors for outstanding research. She was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society as a third-year medical student. She was the recipient of the Hans J. Lowenstein Award for academic excellence in the field of obstetrics, as well as the Glasgow-Rubin Citation awarded by the American Medical Women’s Association for academic achievement. She additionally was awarded first place at the Young Surgeon Research Award Competition. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2016 and was the recipient of the Dr. Curtis J. Lund Research Award. She is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, becoming board certified in 2017. She is a clinical instructor with the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Rochester Medical Center.
